Stepmother

I miss this little girl, much more than I thought I would.
I can't explain it, I don't know why,
She's not even really mine.
It won't be so bad, I thought when I said good-bye,
We'll see her soon enough, but now I know it's not,
It's not enough.






I miss hearing her sing, and knowing every word

I miss seeing her shirt tucked in up past her belly because it's "too long"

I miss her wearing sparkly shoes, even when they don't match

I miss watching her dance and showing her baby sister how to walk in from "off stage"

I miss watching her run when she's excited with her hands in a fist and her arms bowed out to the side

I even miss her drama queen attitude (well, sometimes!)
